Had the strangest dream. It felt both delightful and mysterious. Within this dream mountains of books were being given away. The bookstore was a strange blend of Medieval stone, iron, and wood with clean, ultramodern minimalist architecture. People were hurrying in and out with armloads of books. Some lingered, stood about, sat around, puckering up chins and lips in odd, almost comedic facial expressions while alternately plucking at and caressing pages of paper. Books, books, ¡BOOKS! everywhere here in New York City! Twas a mad, merry frenzy of books as if it was a scene in some weird Neo-Disney Noir movie. Continue reading

Dream: Walking with the Beautiful Blackbird Man
Being with Ashley Bryan in Islesford, Maine one Autumn Day

Foto of Ashley Bryan from the book, Beautiful Blackbird. Cropped and modified from an archival image found on the book’s back cover from Photographer Peter Ralston archival color ink print from 2010.
Awoke Sunday morning on the day before Labor Day from the strangest dream. The dream itself unfolded as a real, everyday depiction of normal reality. There wasn’t any fantasy, syfy weirdness, or dissolving boundaries between dimensions and destinations. The whole dream took place on Little Cranberry Island on the edge of Acadia National Park in the State of Maine. In this dream I lived in Islesford, a village or hamlet within the Town of Cranberry Isles. The town spans three main islands and a few small ones. It’s all part of Hancock County, too. And the weather was beautiful with the wistful nostalgia of long ago good times as Summer turned with the Wheel of the Year into Autumn.
Frost was in the air. The sun felt warm even with a sweater on. Twas early Fall still, but the leaves had already fallen from the hardwoods. More likely they fell due to recent high winds as much as from the chill. In this dream I walked and talked for long hours with the late Ashley Bryan. Yes, he’s been dead since February 2022. Never met the man, unfortunately. Indeed, I’ve not ever heard of this gentle genius until my own visit to Islesford, Maine, from Seattle, Washington. Continue reading
Dream: Rescued a Boy from a Crowd with a Riding Lawnmower Spaceship
Note: The name of the boy in the dream below has been changed to protect his and his family’s identity and privacy. The dream occurred on a Tuesday morning on the 25th of August 2026.
The Dream
I work outside sitting on and operating a round, red riding lawnmower in a huge grassy area with scattered trees. Boxwood bushes cluster nearby. The machine is a mix of old and futuristic tech. I sit back in an open, throne-like chair operating it like a bulldozer as there’s no tractor-like steering wheel. The machine is painted a bright, crimson red covered in dust, grass clippings, and other mowing debris. The chrome metal parts gleam in the sunlight. The mower looks like the old, red, saucer-shaped one my great-uncle Aumon used to operate back on the family farm in the 1970s and 80s. Except the throne-chair is highly futuristic and appears to be a replica of the Captain’s Chair aboard the Starship Enterprise in the Star Trek mythos. Otherwise the rubber-handled levers for operating caterpillar tracks like on a bulldozer sat to my immediate right and left. Felt I could fly away if truly urgent. Indeed, a nanosecond of recognition as a UFO in disguise flashed thru my mind. Continue reading
Dreams from Parallel Universes
Love bleeds out between universes, and what is reality, really? And what is consciousness?
Had the strangest dream last night or rather early this morning as I slept over 9 hours finally. Have struggled for years with sleep deprivation and insomnia, but as I’ve gotten older I often feel sick after only three hours of sleep. But last night slept a heavenly 9 hours and 6 minutes although an additional 1 hour and 19 minutes were spent awake. My Apple Watch monitor tech, however, showed 52 minutes of Deep Sleep, 5 hours 32 minutes of Core Sleep, and, yes!, 2 hours and 42 minutes of REM Sleep. REM, Rapid Eye Movement, the phase most dreams occur. Often I woke up because I had to go pee, and sometimes because my shoulders and hips got uncomfortable or my legs and feet got twitchy. One of the weirdest, most remarkable part of this sleep cycle was every time I fell back asleep after waking up I fell back into the same dream I woke up from. Furthermore I didn’t simply fall back into the same dream but fell back into the same parallel Planet Earth in the same parallel universe as an alternate reality. Even felt the characters within the dream sensed my presence, my consciousness, the avatar or person that represents the real me was absent, missing, and they awaited my return. Ever have such a dream, you? Continue reading
Dreams in the Month of May
Four major dreams and a hint of others to contemplate upon, wonder about, and prepare our shared awareness for beyond the morrow
Dream from a Friday morning on the 1st of May 2026 C.E.
Rock climbing indoors. The rock morphs, changes as I climb, and the feeling goes from fun to surprise to desperation. I must not fall.
Am climbing a smooth, concrete column. My body grips the column tightly as I wiggle like a monkey pretending to be a snake.
The rock morphs and am now between two narrow stone walls indoors. A tight chimney squeeze of sorts. Classic rock climbing outdoors!
Then it morphs again. One wall stays put. The other turns back into a smooth, concrete column. My body is between this. It’s tight, but I can push-pull-push my way up. Narrow gap behind my back with my back up against the wall behind me. The gap widens. Soon I’d lose purchase. How would one move out without slipping and falling?
I realize I am inside an enormous building like an airplane hangar. It is well lit and bare. There are supposed to be silvery flying saucer UFOs parked there like historic UFO whistleblower Bob Lazar claims in real life. Continue reading
Nightmare in my Neck
The mystery of a Sunday night dream during which centipede legs grew out of the back of my neck
Timeframe occurred: on the night of Sunday 5 April, although most likely during the dark, early morning hours of Monday 6 April 2026 CE in Pacific Standard Time.
Lately in our everyday waking reality, grew a beard. Also allowed the fuzz on the back of my neck to grow out. Even after I trimmed around my beard. Decided after a couple of weeks in of growing a beard didn’t much like posterior neck fuzz. Nope. Stood in the bathroom that particular Sunday morning with my back to the main mirror as I looked into a small, handheld mirror to view the back of my neck. Decided to shave off my neck fuzz and all the hair on the back of my neck below the occipital region. Looked in the mirrors again with satisfaction. And curiosity. Then later in night came the dream. Or, would it be best to write, “The dream came later that same day during the night,”? Dream turned from a ho-hum progression of bathroom counter-and-sink tasks into a nightmare of giant bugs and body horror. Continue reading
December’s Dream: AI, Luddites, the Future, the Past, the Now
The enigma of Consciousness seems to connect all unconsciously
Awoke Sunday morning on the 28th of December 2025 from a bizarre dream bridging a tangle of alternate timelines in parallel universes. My dream began in 1980s rural Virginia and ended in futuristic 2070s Chongqing, China.
My 3rd ex-wife (and still good friend) Kristina was in a my dream last night. Dreamt we were still married and living in a parallel multidimensional universe on a farm. This farm was my family’s Riverview Dairy in 1980s Prince Edward County, Virginia, but for us it was the 2030s yet she and I were both 30 years old. In real-life we are 9 and a half years apart in age, I’m 66 now, and we live in the Seattle, Washington metro area in the mid-2020s. Both of us have since remarried, although to other people.
In my dream, we walked around in a field of lush alfalfa and clover rimmed with wild grasses and honeysuckle. We were similarly dressed in work jeans, T-shirts, with open, unbuttoned flannel shirts with the sleeves rolled up. Kristina’s T-shirt was bright blue. My hair was thick and wavy and my face clean-shaven. Kristina’s hair was long and hung loose around her shoulders. The white-painted, wood-plank cow barn, milk house, sheds and stables, and the old Bass farmhouse, all with silvery tin roofs, stood in the background exactly as they used to be in my prime universe. As was the old trailer below us on the edge of this field my first ex-wife Margaret Rose and I used to live in back in the early-to-mid 1980s when I was in my 20s. Yet Margaret wasn’t anywhere in this dream nor was my family of origin. I remember feeling slightly confused within the dream because I was self-aware within this dream the timelines did not match up. Only Kristina from Seattle was living on this 1980s Virginia farm. Not even my other ex, Gwen, and none of our children, nor my current wife Faithlyn, or Kristina’s current husband Brandon. In fact I didn’t see any other people on this farm in this particular universe/timeline. They were, however, still all in today’s Prime Universe. The Prime Universe, in this context, is the location of my current, awakened self-aware reality as I consciously live within it. My dream gripped my mind with its intense energy and vivid, even lurid details.
After the Flood: A Dream
Awoke this Friday morning after a particularly bizarre and unsettling dream. Parts of it felt nightmarish, other parts funny, and yet the dream was so adventurous. Gigantic waves rose up as the sky turned dark. We partied among tomorrow’s ruins with everyone we all knew earlier in life, suddenly aware terrifying alien creatures scurried quickly in the shadows. What was this crazy dream trying to tell me?
The dream didn’t start out so scary. The dreamtime seemed to be soon after my middle daughter Kate’s wedding. In real-life Kate is engaged to marry Ian the Boatman next year in the Summer of 2026. Some people in the dream were still running around in wedding attire. The dreamtime was Autumn. Had a mid-to-late Octobery feel. And the nights felt somewhere between warm and cool. With a Full Moon. So looked up Luna cycles in real-life. In the Fall of 2026 the Full Moon soars on Monday the 6th of October as the Harvest or Hunter’s Supermoon, on Wednesday the 5th of November as the Beaver Supermoon, and on Thursday the 4th of December as the Full Cold Moon Supermoon.
So many people were in this dream. There were folks I knew and know from across many walks of life and from different periods of time. There were people from every place I’ve ever lived. Even people who had passed on in real-life who I was surprised to see still alive in the dream. Family, friends, acquaintances, coworkers, classmates, fraternity brothers, ex-wives, even old girlfriends and schoolyard chums including those I got into fights with – they were all there. They were also all older adults, no one here was still a child or still dead, but more as if we were all peers, alive. We’re all about the same age in this dream. No one was elderly or very young. Twas all in the near future, could be this year, or during the Autumn of next year.
Early on while dreaming, I wondered if we were all in the Afterlife together. Did we all perish in a sudden, unexpected cataclysm where our species became extinct? And now we were in Heaven, or maybe Purgatory or some low-level, close-to-the-ground-of-Earth astral realm because everything was so post-Apocalyptic? The idea we were all in Hell, every one of us, didn’t make sense. And then we realized we were biologically all alive but in some different dimension or density or strange realm. We were unable to understand any of it. All of these people being together, alive, and at the same age, at the same time was a miracle, a Discordian miracle none of us were able to make any sense out of it.
Next we’ve broken into small groups scrambling thru different ruined houses amidst a landscape muddy and trashed from recent flooding. We look around in house after house, all of them empty, no one living there. Everyone I saw were only the people I’ve known across my 66 years of living in real-life time. Someone shouted. We stopped to listen. Monster waves bigger than tsunamis were on the way. We grabbled surfboards – they just appeared in our hands – and headed out into the bay. The water was rising quickly. Enormous waves taller than the mountains rose so high as to block out the sky. We’re calm, which surprises me within the dream. Most of us sit astride our surfboards while some swim about not wanting to be tethered to anything. The gigantic waves pass beneath us, lifting us up into the sky, then dropping us down as the water barreled ashore. We all began to freak out, and fear turns to relief and then, strangely, a sense of fun. None of us are hurt. We don’t drown. We aren’t smashed to bits. It was as if we were somehow indestructible. Again, I wondered if we were somehow in some strange realm of the Afterlife, a House of Many Rooms of which we Earth Humans all know so little. Continue reading
Wedding Ghosts and the Enigma of a Recurring Dream
A Ghost Wedding in the Future leads to healing long buried Grief from the Past
Recurring dreams are rare for me. When they do occur, however, they return over and over and over again. They distract me from my daily real-life responsibilities with a growing obsession with efforts to determine just what in the world do these wild dreams mean? What did they mean back then? What do they mean now? And do the meanings of one person’s dreams ever represent anything for any other person?
Had a dream back in February 2020 as the COVID-19 Pandemic was spreading around our planet that recurred so often the dream haunted me even while awake. The dream was unusually short in duration and didn’t peel off into a reel of others. So often one dream would roll into another and then into another, each one a different dream yet all seem interconnected and linked together like books in The Bible. Perhaps what felt most intriguing and somewhat disturbing was what and who were not in this odd dream such as current partners. The dream felt more realistic and less fantastical, and it also felt incredibly prophetic. To come true, however, the events within the dream would have to go against the grain of current, on-going, real-life relationships. As it turns out, this dream unleashed a torrent of long-buried pain and, ultimately, resolution and liberation. My subconscious had to jack hammer it into my awareness more than five years after I first experienced this dream.
