Tearing up the roads to dictatorship
Yes, the Orange Man in the White House must be impeached, removed, and jailed. He must be put on trial for treason and for his litany of high crimes, misdemeanors, and blatant corruption. Ditto for JD Vance, the man currently abusing the office of the Vice-Presidency. Those Trump placed in positions of authority from the Cabinet down must also be impeached and removed from office. Elon Musk must be arrested and put on trial for the damage he has done to so many individuals and to our institutions. It will take time to repair the destruction these people have inflicted upon our nation.
Those in the courts and in Congress who aided and abetted this damage must be raked over the coals in every legal way possible for their horrid incompetence, cowardice, stupidity, and abuse of their office. Many in Congress have forfeited their authority by their flagrant and imbecilic cowardice and abuse of power and do-nothing-but-lick-Trump’s-nasty-boots behavior. Those in the MAGA Cult and its allies such as QAnon, the Christian Nationalists and Dominionists, the White Supremacists, the Project 2025 group, and other groups of sleepy haters must be expunged from government top to bottom in the same manner Germany bans Nazis from holding political office ever again.
America is broken. It was the process of breaking long before Donald Trump took advantage of the decline to inflict his own chaos and misbehavior upon the world. One can trace it back to the development of the real deep state, not the bureaucracy people grumble about even as it works hard to serve the people, but the national security deep state after the end of the Second World War and during the early Cold War. President Truman, with good intentions, initiated the process with the National Security Act of 1947 passed in the wake of several major UFO/UAP/NHI events that year. This grew out of hand so quickly Ike, Dwight D. Eisenhower, spoke out about the power of the military-industrial complex as he passed the torch to John F. Kennedy in January 1961.
Elements of what eventually mutated and metastasized into the military/security-intelligence/surveillance-education/prison-industrial/financial supercomplex are implicated in the assassination of JFK and in the coverup and control of the Non-Human Intelligence/Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena narrative. We the People must regain actual, real control of what we rightfully own, and that includes everything these secretive organizations have done, do, and possess. We must fix America. Such a set of tasks will take time, energy, and money.
Repairing the United States also means updating and reforming the US Constitution as a living document, not an ossified fossil that’s been trashed by the Trump cult. We shall have a Constitutional Convention to reform the entire United States Constitution. Reforms will include abolishing the Electoral College and banning gerrymandering with constant redistricting to instead use existing counties, cities, and parishes as actual electoral districts. Further reforms include setting term limits on all electoral and appointed offices, banning anyone convicted of crimes who has not served their time from running for any office and barring them from all government appointments. The central banking system, i.e. the Federal Reserve, may be officially established as a fourth branch of government similar to the US Supreme Court. If done, all private banking must be separated out from the Fed itself. In addition, Congress must reclaim its authority to declare war, impose tariffs, and raise taxes. The Equal Rights Amendment must be passed. The Second Amendment itself amended to declare the individual right to self defense, emphasize state control over all militias, and allow for all weapons to be responsibly regulated. Women’s reproductive rights must be restored. The immigration and naturalization process must be reformed and streamlined.
None of this shall be easy. But it’s not impossible. Indeed, it is quite possible and may take longer than anyone may desire. Let’s make sure we Americans can do this without resorting to revolution and civil war.
In the meantime, make time to turn off your favorite TV shows for a short time to read or listen to someone read at least two slender books. First read Timothy Snyder’s 2017 book, On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century. Then read Naomi Wolf’s 2007 book, The End of America: Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot. Next join nonviolent protests and resistance groups. Follow online publications such as Waging Nonviolence and go to: https://wagingnonviolence.org/.
Get involved! Speak up and be heard. One doesn’t have to agree with everyone in any one group or agree with all of their ideas, beliefs, and agendas, but at least start having conversations between each other together. Be prepared. Just know as a nation slides step by step into authoritarianism and dictatorship, some people will celebrate the tyrant and participate in fascist movements. Others will fight back or flee for their lives. Some will freeze in terror. Many, however, will fawn by keeping their heads down. The fawners historically work to stay obedient, pretend to celebrate those in power, and go about being as small and as invisible as possible. Dictatorships, however, will always seek to test the obedience of its subjects. Do not give up. Keep going. Rest a bit if necessary, and keep going. And keep on going. There’s no time to stop. Don’t stop! Keep going.
