The Maelstrom opens wide its Maw. Be alert and don’t fall in.

Americans have leapt closer towards the brink of all-out civil war with the attempted assassination of former president and current Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Gonna break the wall here and share, yes, I am afraid. You may feel however and whatever you feel along the political and religious spectrum. And I am afraid. You may even loathe your own country for whatever reasons you choose to do so, but you do not want to experience civil war and revolution especially in this postmodern 21st Century empire. Such violence would consume you with the stomach churning malevolence unique to civil wars and revolutions, far worse than usually found in even brutal interstate wars. Have you no idea? Have you no sense of history? No knowledge of what terrible and heinous acts fellow Americans inflicted upon each other in our past? Most citizens, to be sure, did not stoop to such ugliness. More than enough did so, however, to make history. If only people studied the dark side of history as well as the glorious, positive, upbeat side.

The mainstream media as well as alternative, fringe, and social media have all gone deep into telling and retelling the events of Saturday evening on the 13th of July 2024. The drama has infected even the UFO movement. So am not going to report any further on what has already been reported over and over with new pieces still falling in place as investigations continue. Instead I seek to warn my fellow Americans of the dangers we all face, dangers as real as earthquakes, tornadoes, and poisonous spiders.

Today in the store there was a White man over 6 feet tall, with a wiry muscular build, dressed in solid black. Black shorts cut off below the knees. Shiny steel pocket chain. Solid black tank top muscle shirt. Black military style baseball cap. Across his chest was a stylized white image of an AR-15 style assault rifle. You can guess where this is going, yes? Underneath the AR-15, however, was stamped in white letters the following words, “This machine kills racists.” On the day after the attempt on racist Trump.

There are people on both sides armed and arming themselves. Not all gun nuts are on the Right. The Left has its share, too. War, however, eradicates the moderate middle and forces people to stay and pick a side to fight or flee in fright or freeze with your head down in compliance.

NOTES: The United States has been in a state of low-level, intermittent civil conflict since February 2011. The Wisconsin Insurrection led to Occupy Wall Street to Occupy Earth, all influenced by the Great Recession and the corruption of democratic processes under extreme capitalist stress. These overlapping uprisings were followed by various militia protests, mass shootings, the First Black Lives Matter revolt, the War on Cops, the Oil Pipeline & Coal Train protests including the Siege of Standing Rock, the turmoil of the 2016 Presidential Election and ongoing protests, the Second Black Lives Matter revolt, more militia uprisings, and more racist mass shootings. Then Trump’s launched his mob upon the U.S. Capitol to hijack the presidential election certification process. It’s Trump’s messy attempts to overturn the 2020 Election, kill Mike Pence, his own Vice-President with Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, and stay in power as an autocrat. 

This violence was a pivotal turning point in a cycle of violence. Some would point out the USA has been in a state of borderline, not-quite civil war since the end of the Second World War. Others point out America has been in a state of constant, low-level warfare of one kind or another ever since the end of the Civil War in 1865. Those old wounds haven’t ever really healed. Today, however, the hardcore “MAGA maggots” are blaming President Joe Biden. This round of violence, it must be noted, begins with Trump himself and his cult of crazy followers who come across as part-Mafia, part-KKK, part Fascist fantasists, and part Christian Nationalist zealots. 

P.S. It’s the end of September 2024 as I write this now. Since I first penned this there was a second assassination attempt upon Donald Trump. It was foiled by the U.S. Secret Service. There was also a third attempt by Iranian agents, and, thankfully, it didn’t succeed. We Americans do not need this worst ever president in American history to go down as a martyr surrounded by his rabid dog cultists. One has to recognize those two fellow Americans who attempted to shoot Trump dead were confused and sloppy people who couldn’t make up their minds which major party to belong to. After all, the Republican Party has been hijacked and deformed by the Trumpy Dumpers. Traditional Conservatives, Neo-Conservatives, those who favored fiscal conservatism, a strong military defense, and science were pushed out by the radical Far Right/Alt-Right hodgepodge of racist gun nutters, naive isolationists, religious kooks, pro-Confederate traitors, and pro-fascist extremists. It’s overdue for Americans to wake up and put country first, to put this constitutional democratic republic first over loyalty to a political party run by an wannabe tyrant. Yes, our Constitution is archaic and in dire need of reform. Our economy needs to be reformed. Our military needs to be reconstituted and our alliances strengthened. There are many reforms necessary we can argue about for ever, as long as we agree to disagree with respect and without resorting to violence. Think, yes, if you’re an American, think upon these matters before casting your vote.
