William Dudley Bass scampers up a slick ol’ tree over one of the streams flowing into Goodwin Lake. Both of the Twin Lakes formed from damming the headwater streams of the Upper Sandy River in Prince Edward County. The Sandy River drains into the Appomattox River which in turn flows into the James River and thus the Chesapeake Bay of the Atlantic Ocean.
