A large female Cross Orbweaver Spider, Araneus diadematus, becomes the Queen of the Front Porch where we lived in Green Lake during Autumn’s last gasp before the onset of Winter, 21 November 2014.
This is an unfinished work in progress. Feel free to explore what’s already here. Thanks!

NOTE: The spider wasn’t harmed during the foto sessions and so forth. We were in spooked awe of this magnificent and determined little creature. As the web grew more expansive and bouncy right where both households’ doors open onto the shared front porch, we swept the orb weaver’s web away and used the broom to dangle-drippy-drop her into other bushes. Soon afterwards we had a frost in Seattle. We were overdue for a frost and twas already so late in Autumn. This brief blast of icy cold left empty, wet webs draped across the shrubbery.
