We all fell in love with Monhegan immediately; the harbor, the town, and its island. The combination of natural beauty, remoteness, and isolation enchanted us. Monhegan’s New England island culture charmed us as well, especially with its blend of arts and crafts, construction, the tourist industry, and anchored by fishermen and lobstermen. Numerous artists from a variety of disciplines came here to get away and focus on their creative projects.
