Our family backpacking and camping trip up into Spider Meadows in the nearby Glacier Peak Wilderness beyond Lake Wenatchee got delayed as we had accidentally left our backpacks behind at the River House. Kristina & I were going to make the best of it by doing a short, steep dayhike up Beaver Hill Mountain on the edge of Plain, and Talia didn’t want to go. She’s only 7 years old in this picture.
