Can we overcome what divides us with it?
Are there Oxford commas in telepathy? Will technology such as electronic biotech implanted into our brains allow for direct mind to mind communication? What will such an experience be like? Will there be chunks of letters, words, and sentences appearing in our minds similar to what our eyes perceive as text messages on a mobile fone? A plethora of symbols? Hieroglyphs? Are there smells? Pictures? Will any images be cartoonish or real-life-like? Will telepathic pictures be sharp and clear, or faded and blurry?
Would such mental images, smells, tastes, and other sensations be altered by brain damage from injury, aging, drugs, and disease? Hmn, would the thoughts and images projected by the transmitter person be perceived the same way by the receiver? What techniques would be needed, if any, to determine whether telepathy is restricted between two individuals or three or a global hive mind? What of privacy, transparency, and secrets? What does one do to defend one’s mind from unwarranted intrusions? Are there to be capital letters and punctuation in telepathy? Gosh, what will telepathy feel like?
Will brain to brain interfaces help us learn more about the mind? The mind versus the body? What about the so-called heart-mind and the brain-gut? What roles shall our hearts and guts play in telepathic communication? Will telepathy allow us to develop and heighten our other notoriously intermittent and variable extrasensory senses?
Language distinguishes us as humans. Language as written, spoken, drawn, multimedia, visual, spoken, musical, and vibratory expressions of our bodyminds. This is both individual and collective. We are, after all, Homo sapiens, the spawn of multiple ancestral species interbreeding and recreating themselves. We are bipedal social mammals who pivot from mindless herd mentalities to individuals with heightened personal and professional boundaries developed around a sense of self.
Terence McKenna, the deceased and controversial ethnobotanist, psychedelic explorer, and student of the mind, declared nothing exists to us humans without language. We use language in all its mediums to define our relationships to everything there is we can imagine. If something shows up completely unknown to us and we still perceive it, we have words for such including, “it,” and, “thing.” Yup, good ol’ it & thing. If something shows up so alien and otherworldly to us as to not even be registered by our sense, we don’t even see, hear, taste, smell, or feel it, then we don’t even know it is “real,” yes?
McKenna also postulated when an entire language goes extinct, an entire world dies out along with it. All of the stories, the tales, the shape and sound of speech, the way life and the world is perceived and experienced vanishes from physical existence. Every thing that once existed within an extinct language fades from view after the last speakers die off. The rest of us, if we are fortunate, are left with alphabets and glyphs of some kind. Sometimes we’re even left with extraordinary and extensive records. Researchers are sometimes able to reconstruct the sounds of extinct speech. While exciting, of course, such isn’t the same as hearing individuals, alive or recorded, sharing their stories in their indigenous tongue.
There aren’t any tongues in telepathy.
Those who profess to have experienced the Afterlife in various degrees of spirit and soul all claim there is some kind of universal language everyone immediately and automatically understands. Sometimes everyone seems to speak the language their physical bodies use or used and everyone fully comprehends anyway regardless of their birth languages. Sometimes the language seems to be a more celestial, universal form of telepathy. What have any of you experienced, either via an ESP experience here in this life or via a near-death or some other type of out-of-body experience?
Consider this, too, will telepathy allow us to transcend the limitations of our planetary “Tower of Babble?” Will being able to sense the emotions, thoughts, and feelings of others allow us to connect with one another on deeper, more mindful, and more heartfelt levels? Will telepathy help us finally generate world peace, or will it instead compel the ugly side of our shadows to emerge with associated fears, hatreds, jealousies, vengeance, racism, and other bigotries? Will it fuel violence? Or will we let these horrors sweep thru us as we draw upon our inner strengths to open our hearts and minds to accept, to forgive, and to love? Will empathy and compassion increase to reign? Or will narcissism, sociopathy, and psychopathy overwhelm the light?
Our planet is beset my numerous, overlapping challenges today from climate change to threats of nuclear war to racism and ethnic hatreds. We can overcome our own destructive impulses and learn to work and play together. Many already are, and overcoming our inner demons requires more of us join together to do so. Yes?
